Space Exploration Themes and Working Groups
The Texas A&M Research Enterprise Strategic Plan (2023-2030) identifies space exploration as one of its six broadly defined themes, segmented into three specific subthemes, each paired with areas of strength or opportunity within the research enterprise:
Earth and Planetary Sciences
Advancing knowledge of our role in the universe, Texas A&M unites disciplines that explore planetary origins, investigate life beyond Earth, and protect our space environment.
Human Space-Flight Research
Building a foundation for sustainable astronaut-led exploration, research at Texas A&M improves operations, protects health, boosts performance and strengthens policies and ethics
Planetary Surface engineering and Construction
Creating solutions for building habitats beyond Earth, Texas A&M drives innovation and discovery in energy, robotics, materials, and life-support systems.
